after light scatters beyond your door,
show up with your arms wide open
to invite me in.
Hug me,
kiss me
and tell me i'm worth something,
your purpose will be served in
kind,
as long as I keep my eyes narrowed on the floor
you will be sure
to never know.
I will walk to your bed
and claim it as my own,
roll over to press my face in your pillow,
an imprint to keep you company
when i'm gone,
wait for you to lay down next to me
because you know I never like
to be alone.
We'll talk for a moment,
idle chat,
awaiting the next moment to pass,
spread passion over these walls
with whispers cast as bouncing bullets
off our ears,
I will hold you tight and breathe you in,
lose myself in this moment orchestrated
for an empty self,
wait for you to tie my hands behind my back
and scream as all needs
are satisfied.
All the while the music will play
in loops around tangled bones,
thrusts going with each heavy beat
until love can be felt no more.
Light approaches through
the clouds
and my time is wasting away,
the shower will have to just
wash everything away,
a smile here
and little laugh there,
smells of soap and
minute-old sex will surround us both
to encase us in the moment,
a fond memory to look upon
later in my years.
I can feel your hands pull at my shirt,
eyes trapping me in this room,
a sweet feeling surrounding me as you grasp for
excuses to make me stay,
but it is the ticking that calls my name now,
drowning out your voice.
Needs are met,
desire is past,
a purpose filled in kind,
now it's off to my safer place
where you cannot follow.
But worry not,
for the wind will call your name again later on
after I have seen more beautiful sights,
this shell will empty,
shadows will dance on edge once more
and you will be desired one of these days.
For now I will think of you
as I first saw you
before colors faded to gray,
ponder on lines of your face through meaningless words.
Guilt will rule this heart
sooner or later
and I will come back to you,
but for now,
you will wait for who
I used to be
as you watch me walk away
to chase the speed
of starswept nights.
